The Austrian Archaeological Institute, Department for Prehistory & West Asian/Northeast African Archaeology (OeAI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a
Postdoc Position (f/m/x)
in stable isotope bio-archaeology
(part-time, 20h per week)
The successful candidate will be part of Prof. Barbara Horejs’ research group “Prehistoric Phenomena” at the OeAI and in strong collaboration with VIAS/University of Vienna. The successful candidate is expected to coordinate stable isotope ratio analyses on animal bones from fieldwork of group related with Neolithisation.

Your tasks:
• Coordination of the analytical program
• Preparation of samples and coordination of technicians and volunteers in the labs
• Interpretation of the data
• Preparation of the publication(s)
Your profile:
• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biological anthropology, bioarchaeology, archaeology or chemistry
• Experience in conducting stable isotope ratio research in the context of the Neolithisation
• Abilities and willingness to participate in international and interdisciplinary co-operations as well as publication activity
• Fluent command of English (knowledge of German will be an asset)
• Excellent IT Knowledge (MS Office, Zoom, Adobe, GIS etc.)
Our offer:

• An annual gross salary of € 33.250,70 according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences
• We offer this 50% position for a period of 6 months
