University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of an assistant professor at the Department of the Baroque Art and Culture History at the Institute of Art History, the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of the University of Wrocław.

 

Requirements

  1. The candidate must hold a PhD degree in the field of Art History or Art Sciences.
  2. Publication or acceptance for publication in the last five years of a scientific monograph or at least two scientific articles in journals assigned to the discipline of Art Sciences and on the ministerial list of scoring journals.
  3. In the last ten years, obtaining, conducting or participating in a national grant of one of the indicated institutions (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, NCBiR, FNP) or obtaining equivalent financial support for research from national or foreign institutions or submitting at least one application in grant competitions that was assessed positively (in the case of known scores reaching a minimum of 70%) in the last stage of the assessment, but did not receive funding due to lack of funds.
  4. Having a very good knowledge of the history of Early Modern art, with particular emphasis on the Baroque period.
  5. Research activity on Baroque art in its various aspects documented in publications, with particular emphasis on the Central Europe.
  6. Documented teaching experience in higher education (the selection board reserves the right to ask for an open lecture from candidates standing for the competition).
  7. Ability to conduct classes in Polish.
  8. Ability to conduct classes in foreign languages (including English).
  9. Active knowledge of at least one congressional language, confirmed by participation in foreign scientific conferences with a lecture.

Responsibilities (respectively in the research, didactic and organizational areas):

  1. Conducting research at a high academic level, including publishing in journals and publishing houses, which provides a high score for an evaluation of the discipline of arts studies.
  2. Applying and obtaining external funds for research.
  3. Teaching classes in the usual teaching load.
  4. Participating (as it will be required) in the organizational work of the Institute (councils, commissions, and working groups).

  3. A photocopy of the diploma certifying the master title and the PH.D. or post-Ph.D. academic degree.
  4. Statement whether the University of Wroclaw will be the primary place of work in the case of winning the competition (download Workplace Statement).
  5. Declaration of the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research, and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline, the percentage of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
  6. Declaration – article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
  7. Self-presentation (information about scientific, teaching, organizational, and other achievements).
  8. List scientific publications in the last ten years.
  9. Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements, or an explanation of the lack of them.
  10. Application for employment addressed to JM Rector including a description of applicant’s scientific interests.

The President of the Selection Board reserves the right to ask applicants to submit copies of any scientific publications or other documents required to assess their candidature.
