Offer Description

The project program is to design a database associated with a Geographic information system (GIS) for the cartographic extraction of environmental risks of archaeological sites adjacent to UNESCO sites. Erosion, fluvial activity climate and urbanization are, in fact, the major danger factors for archaeology. Conservation strategies for an area where archaeological sites are present must take into account current and past environmental aspects. This information, aimed above all at the protection of the sites, is fundamental for defining adequate and targeted interventions to prevent any agents or risk situations of the individual sites or areas of historical-archaeological interest. This problem is particularly acute for UNESCO sites. This approach will be applied to Arslantepe (UNESCO site from July 2021), which represents an important case study
