Job profile:

In this position you will carry out high level research and specialise in a particular field. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration.  Key responsibilities: independent research and acquisition of research funds in the fields of soil-landscape science, geomorphology and landscape evolution modelling. Collaboration in the planning, execution, and leadership of scientific projects. Independent teaching and advising of students in physical geography. Scientific publishing. Assisting in the university’s administrative process. Professional competences: Ph.D. degree in Geography or a related geoscience field with a focus on soil geography, geomorphology, and landscape evolution modelling. Experience with geographic computation in multiple packages (R / C / GIS) and/or with soil- and geomorphic fieldwork. International experience strongly preferred. Willingness to teach in the Bachelor- and Master programs in Geography. Successful publication record in international peer-reviewed journals. Experience with acquisition of third-party funds. Excellent English skills. You are independent but a team-player, you are organized and able to use modern computing infrastructures, and you can collaborate and communicate in a structured manner with project partners. Social abilities: we are looking for a team-player with an open mind, and for a great communicator, including across disciplinary and cultural borders.
