POSITION OF ADJUNCT
AT THE DEPARTMENT OF GEOLOGY AND GEOCHEMISTRY IN KRAKOW

Description (of the position / scope of tasks / type of scientific research in which the Candidate would participate)
The basic scope of duties required for the competition for the position is to conduct scientific research and development, proven work in areas of processing and analysis of borehole data and integration of geological information for the purposes of projects carried out at the Institute, implementing the results of this research into practice, disseminating scientific achievements, through, among others, publications and active participation in scientific scene, continuous improvement of one's qualifications, education of scientific staff and participation in the organizational work of the Institute related to scientific research and development work.

Conditions that the Candidate should meet:
1. doctor’s degree of engineering and technical sciences, in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining and energy;
2. at least 15 years of professional experience in the petroleum industry and at least 10 years in a research institution;
3. participation in at least four research and development projects;
4. ability to use specialized interpretation software in the field of well data interpretation - ProGeo, Techlog, Petrophysics;
5. knowledge of borehole measurements with Schlumberger and Halliburton logs and old domestically designed equipment measurements;
6. knowledge of methods for integrating geological information from various geological and geophysical fields and knowledge of laboratory tests in the field of drill core testing;
7. scientific achievements confirmed by publications in rated journals from the ministerial list;
8. participation in specialty professional courses in the area of interpretation of borehole, geophysical and geological data;
9. geological qualifications in category IX - conducting and performing seismic and drilling geophysics in the field, also using blasting agents, along with designing and documenting studies;
10. knowledge of English at least B-2 level;
11. soft skills, team work, professional collaboration.
The competition entry should include:
- application to employment in a research position (cover letter),
- scientific CV,
- a declaration of full public rights and no criminal record for crimes committed intentionally or intentional fiscal crimes,
- declaration of not conducting competitive activities and consent to concluding a non-competition agreement during the employment,
- copy of the diploma of completion of higher education, copy of the diploma of awarding an academic degree,
- list of publications highlighting the five most important works carried out during the last 5 years of the candidate's scientific work,
The candidate's qualifications will be assessed by the Recruitment Committee on the basis of the documentation and materials provided. An interview will be scheduled with selected candidates within 14 days from the end of the submission period.
Candidate evaluation criteria:
1. creativity measured by the quality and number of scientific publications, patent applications/patents and/or implementations (if applicable) in which the candidate is the first author,
2. completion of scientific internships, change of scientific profile, internships and work within industry,
3. number of citations to the candidate's works,
4. managing research projects and active participation in conferences / symposia / workshops,
5. organizational activity and achievements,
6. compliance of the field/discipline of knowledge with the expectations of the Institute.
