Offer Description

 

The Dean of the Faculty of Management, on behalf of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, announces a competition for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Business Informatics.

Individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act of July 20, 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended) and in the Statute of the University of Gdańsk of June 13, 2019, may participate in the competition.

Deadline for submissions: May 16, 2024

Employment conditions: Full-time, employment contract.

Requirements:

  • Completed higher education studies in the field of business informatics, technical informatics, informatics, or electronics and communication;
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions, virtualization, project management in IT (including development), and practical applications of artificial intelligence;
  • Proficiency in Polish and English at a level sufficient to conduct teaching activities in these languages.

Additional advantages for candidates will be:

  • Documented authorial and editorial experience in preparing scientific, didactic, or journalistic materials,
  • Documented experience in participating in international/multicultural IT projects.

Candidates applying for the competition are requested to submit the following documents to the Department of Business Informatics, Faculty of Management (Teaching and Conference Center of the Faculty of Management, University of Gdańsk, Sopot, ul. Piaskowa 9, tel. 58 523-14-00):

  1. Employment application (addressed to the Rector of the University of Gdańsk);
  2. Personal questionnaire for a person applying for employment (available on the website: [link]);
  3. Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  4. Diploma of completion of second-cycle studies;
  5. Documents confirming proficiency in foreign languages;
  6. Information about completed courses, trainings, acquired qualifications, IT certificates, etc.

In case of deficiencies in the submitted documents or the need for additional information about the candidate, the Competition Commission will request candidates to complete them within a period not exceeding 7 days.

Please include the clause "I consent to the processing of personal data contained in the application documents for the purposes necessary to conduct the competition procedure for the position of assistant professor at the Department of Business Informatics in accordance with the general regulation on data protection of April 27, 2016. Additionally, I declare that I have been informed about the possibility of withdrawing my consent at any time and that withdrawing consent does not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal."

The contracting party reserves the right to respond only to selected offers.

The competition may be closed without selecting a candidate.

Information clause:

  1. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of April 27, 2016, we inform that:
    • The Administrator of your personal data is the University of Gdańsk, located at ul. Jana Bażyńskiego 8, 80-309 Gdańsk.
    • The Administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted at telephone number (58) 523 24 59 or email address: poin@ug.edu.pl. The Data Protection Officer can be contacted in all matters related to the processing of personal data and the use of rights related to their processing.
    • Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of conducting the recruitment process for the indicated position.
    • The legal basis for processing your personal data for recruitment purposes is art. 6(1)(c) of the GDPR – processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation incumbent on the administrator, in particular arising from art. 119 of the Law on Higher Education and Science and art. 21 of the Labor Code. The legal basis for processing voluntarily provided personal data that goes beyond the scope of data indicated in art. 22¹ of the Labor Code will be art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR – consent of the data subject.
    • Providing your personal data after deciding to participate in the recruitment process is mandatory to the extent specified in art. 22¹ of the Labor Code and the Law on Higher Education and Science, and it determines the possibility of applying for employment and any further employment. In case of providing personal data beyond the above legal regulations – providing your personal data is voluntary, but it determines the possibility of participating in the recruitment process.
    • Your personal data will be processed on behalf of the administrator by authorized employees solely for the purposes specified in point 3.
    • Your personal data will be stored for the period necessary to achieve the purposes specified in point 3. In the event of a negative recruitment result, your data will be deleted immediately after the recruitment process is completed, unless the scope of archiving requirements is provided for by legal regulations – in which case, they will be stored for the period specified in those regulations.
    • Your personal data will not be disclosed to external entities except in cases provided for by law. In the case of submitting application documents electronically, the recipient of your data may be a subject acting on behalf of the administrator, i.e., a postal service operator.
    • Pursuant to the provisions of the GDPR, you have the right to: a) access your data, b) rectify them when they are incorrect, c) delete them, restrict processing, and transfer data – in cases provided for by law, d) object to the processing of data, e) lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority – the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions on personal data protection, f) withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
