Offer Description
The selected candidate will exploit a K-Rb ultracold mixture with tunable interspecies interactions to investigate new forms of quantum liquids (“quantum droplets”) and relatively unexplored superfluid structures like shells and rings. Specifically, the candidate will take care of developing new-generation optical setups to confine the mixture in optical traps with spherical and disk-like geometries and to imprint vortex states on the two atomic species. The research activity will focus on the study of the complex interplay among multicomponent superfluity, quantum fluctuations, topological excitations and dimensionality.
