Offer Description
Design and organize the collection and processing of data from calcium imaging of the whole brain of A. mexicanus larvae, using a two-photon light sheet microscope. Analyze the data using bigdata approach to understand the evolutionary changes in brain dynamics between surface and cavefish.
- Perform calcium imaging experiments with a light sheet microscope
- Process the data obtained using complex mathematical methods.
- Designing adequate mathematical models
- Disseminate and promote technological results and achievements in the form of publications and presentations at conferences.
The Institut de biologie de l'ENS (IBENS) is a fundamental research center that conducts original research aimed at deciphering the fundamental mechanisms at the core of biological processes.
A joint ENS-CNRS-INSERM unit, IBENS hosts more than 300 people grouped into 30 autonomous teams conducting highly collaborative and multidisciplinary research that combines experimental and theoretical approaches.
The research activity covers various thematic fields: Neurosciences, Developmental Biology, Functional Genomics, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
Several technology platforms, notably in imaging, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics are available to researchers. Research conducted at IBENS benefits from interactions with other disciplines present at the ENS (physics, chemistry, cognitive sciences, mathematics). IBENS is actively involved in the training of students and young researchers at all levels.
The team's objective is to understand the computational processes of neural circuits and their link with behaviour.
The candidate will work closely with German SUMBRE and other team members.
