University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position ofassistant at the Department Paleozoology, Faculty of Biological Sciences

Applications are invited from those who fulfil the statutory requirements specified in the Higher Education Act from 20th July 2018 (Dz. U. z 2018 r., poz. 1668) and the statutes of the University of Wroclaw.

 

Requirements:

  1. Doctoral degree in biology.
  2. Experience in research in the field of paleontology, archaeology, archaeozoology, taphonomy.
  3. Ability and knowledge of methods used in paleontology, archaeology, archaeozoology, taphonomy.
  4. Didactic experience in conducting laboratory classes at a university (paleontology, archaeology, archaeozoology, taphonomy)
  5. Scientific achievements (especially in the field of palaeozoology, archeology and archaeozology) documented by scientific publications.
  6. Conducted research must fall within the discipline of biological sciences.
  7. Fluent knowledge of Polish and English in speech and writing is required.

Responsibilities

In the research area:

  1. Conducting field and experimental research on the following topics: paleontology, archaeology, archaeozoology, taphonomy.
  2. Following scientific reports in international journals.
  3. Preparation of scientific publications.
  4. Active participation in scientific conferences.

In the teaching area

  1. Conducting classes in the field of paleontology, archaeology, archaeozoology, taphonomy.

In the organizational area

  1. Activities for the dissemination of science.
  2. Taking care of apprentices.
  3. Participation in creating new subjects and study programs.

  2. Curriculum vitae.
  3. A photocopy of the diploma confirming obtaining the academic degree of doctor or  a certificate from the dean's office on conferring a doctoral degree (with a copy of the master's diploma).
  4. Statement whether the University of Wroclaw will be the primary place of work in the case of winning the competition (download Workplace Statement).
  5. Declaration of the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research, and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline, the percentage of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
  6. Self-presentation (information about scientific, organizational, and other achievements).
  7. List scientific publications in the last ten years.
  8. Electronic versions of two publications (or manuscripts of unpublished works)  considered by the candidate to be representative of their scientific achievements, confirming the competition requirements.
  9. Declaration – article 113 the Law on Higher Education and Science  (download Declaration – Article 113).
