Offer Description
Applications are open for 2 (two) Research Studentship(s), within the framework of project/R&D institution (title of the project/R&D institution’s name), (reference), financed by national funds through PRR (Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência, through IAPMEI – Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação
Workplan: Application of deep learning techniques for image processing for the estimation of visual rock characteristics and uncertainty quantification of estimation models. Application of the models on small and large scales. Image Analysis and Oversampling Techniques.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have a duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in May 2024. Cannot renewed.

Admission Requirements: To be enrolled at an integrated master’s or a master’s in Mining engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar areas. It will be a preferential factor if the candidate demonstrates proven experience in machine learning, deep learning, and modeling.
Additional Information
Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atualizacao-2024.pdf), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 990,98, being the payment method by Wire Transfer.

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation (30%), Motivation Letter (10%), recommendation letters (up to two) (5%), and individual interview (55%).

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
