Job Title: Junior Embedded Systems Researcher

Job Ref: AICOS_Jobs_2024_04

Job Type: Full-time contract.

Job Salary: Depending on the candidate's academic degree and professional experience.

Job Location: Porto, Portugal.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform research activities within the Connected Things group, namely in the area of embedded electronics. The candidate is expected to contribute to current and future projects within the area of cognitively connected solutions.

The candidate will work on the following tasks:

  • Develop firmware and software for embedded devices;
  • Bring up, debug and test new hardware designs;
  • Write scientific (papers, reports, etc.) documentation.

Personal Skills:

Candidates with experience in the development of firmware and software for embedded devices are preferred. The candidate will work in close contact with hardware development, so know-how within this field will be highly valued. Interest in industrial applications will be valued. The candidate must show excellent English communication skills.

Academic Qualifications:

Academic Master's degree or equivalent academic qualification in the area of Electrical Engineering.

Other Skills:

  • Programming skills in C and C++;
  • Experience with development for microcontrollers;
  • Experience debugging hardware using standard laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, protocol analyser).

Professional Experience:

More than one year of professional experience or research experience in R&D projects and embedded electronics.
