Offer Description

The ‘’Matière et systèmes complexes’’ laboratory, a joint research unit of the Université Paris Cité (https://u-paris.fr/) and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), offers a challenging working environment in soft matter research. It also offers interdisciplinary training in soft matter, non-linear physics, biology and statistical physics.

The proposed research and training programme will focus on the study of smart composite materials to address environmental challenges. The aim of the project is to develop and investigate new structured composites by introducing functionalised nanofillers into polymer networks in order to modulate the properties in view of selective adsorption of pollutants. In order to develop the skills needed to become an accomplished researcher, complementary training will be offered to the fellows: language courses (English, French) and project management  courses. The project involves international collaboration.

Applicants should hav a PhD degree, experimental skills and a high level of knowledge in physico-chemistry. Knowledge of rheophysics and or numerical simulation will also be an advantage. A track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals is required.

The selected fellow will prepare a joint research proposal with Alain Ponton for funding by the European Commission, “Intra-European Fellowship for Career Development”, scheme under Horizon Europe (2021-2027).

To be considered, please send  a curriculum vitae, a lits of publications, the names of 3 referees and a cover letter outlining your research interests to this address before by 31 May 2024 : alain.ponton@u-paris.fr.
