The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
The candidate is required to
- Hold a doctoral degree.
- Have at least two scholarly works in the area of social communication and media studies published.
- Have experience in developing grant documentation (Polish and/or foreign competitions).
- Have teaching experience at academic level in the area of social communication and media studies and be ready to take new responsibilities and acquire new competences related to teaching.
- Speak fluent Polish, which would enable them to teach students at academic level, and know English at the level which would enable them to participate in international scholarly communication.
- Be available to fulfil teaching duties (teaching students at both full-time and part-time study courses) and organizational duties in the Institute of Information and Media Studies.
Responsibilities
- In the research area: conducting both individual and team research in the field of social communication and media studies and publishing its results; participating in scholarly contests, including applying for internal, national and international grants.
- In the teaching area: conducting classes in a selected field, e.g. editing, digital and web publishing, distribution of printed and digital publications, digital media, electronic communication, information and data analysis, information management. Experience in electronic information systems.
- In the organizational area: participating in the organization of academic conferences and scholarly symposia, editing academic publications, popularizing science, participating in commissioned organizational work, participating in recruitment committees, etc.

- A photocopy of a diploma certifying obtaining a master's degree, a doctoral degree or a habilitated doctor's degree, or the title of professor.
- A declaration stating that if selected, the successful applicant will designate Wrocław University as his or her primary place of employment (download Workplace Statement). A declaration of the discipline in which the candidate will conduct their research and, in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline, the percentage of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
- An overview of professional accomplishments including a degree of internationalization and a description of the candidate’s research and their experience in teaching, organizing academic work and popularizing science.
- A list of publications from not earlier than the last 10 years.
- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of their scholarly achievements or an explanation of their absence.
- A cover letter to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
- A statement in connection with Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. The Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
