Offer Description
The research work will consist in the creation of new metal complexes (Cu, Mn) or bio-hybrid conjugated polyoxometalates, in which the biochemical activity is enhanced by a peptide chain capable of recognizing Aβ amyloid peptides.
The new hybrid drugs, in fact, will be designed to
a) facilitate their access to the brain compartment,
b) inhibit the formation of neurotoxic Aβ peptide aggregates,
c) counteract oxidative stress
d) activate microglia, with a defined impact on neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative process.
