Offer Description

The research program involves the development, fabrication and characterization of germanium-on-silicon optoelectronic
devices for the detection of optical radiation in the mid-infrared wavelength range. The devices, created at the L-NESS
laboratory of the Polytechnic of Milan, will be made up of a series of quantum wells with variable composition and
thickness. The objective of the research project consists in the use of sensors made with multi quantum well technology
for the analysis of polluting chemical substances in the air. The beneficiary of the research grant will be responsible for
the characterization of the devices in terms of optical absorption and photoresponse
