Doctoral College 

The Doctoral College is a central team within the University that supports and develops Postgraduate Research Students while they undertake their PhD journey.  Our aim is to provide an inspiring and vibrant environment for research and to equip students with the skills they will need to join the next generation of research leaders.

The role  

The University has recently been awarded a NERC funded Centre for Doctoral Training in the area of Resilient Flood Futures (Flood CDT) and are looking for a manager to support the programme team, partners and students.  The Doctoral Training Programme Manager will work in collaboration with the CDT Director and the Head of Doctoral Training Centres and Partnerships to ensure both the efficient and effective day to day management of the CDT as well as helping to define and deliver it's future strategy.  The postholder will facilitate the creation and maintenance of clear cohort identity, supporting students to successfully complete their programme of study, and working to raise the profile of the CDT both within and outside the University.  

This post is hybrid and when on campus will be based at the National Oceanography Centre, Waterfront Campus and Highfield Campus.  The successful applicant must possess excellent skills in both project support and task management, ideally with in the doctoral research student environment. 

You will be an excellent communicator capable of building relationships with multiple stakeholders across the University and the CDT partner institutions, as well as working with peers in equivalent roles across the University to deliver on the University strategy.  This role has line management responsibility. The post is full time, fixed term for 4 years.
