The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
The candidate is required to
- Master's degree / PhD degree in the field of humanities;
- Scholarly achievements in the field of translation studies documented with publications;
- Teaching experience in a higher education institution or in education, documented in the professional curriculum vitae;
- Knowledge of the Polish, German and English language to be able to communicate in the academic environment and in academic teaching.
Responsibilities
- In the research area: conducting individual and collaborative research in the field of comparative German-Polish and Polish-German phraseology, pragmalinguistics, including (im)politeness and pejoratives in German and Polish, aggression in language, and corpus linguistics.
- In the teaching area: teaching courses in phraseology, corpus linguistics, and practical knowledge of the German language.
- In the organizational area: participation in the work of scientific committees and organizational activities in the organization of conferences, seminars, scientific workshops, in editorial work for scientific journals and collective volumes, in activities promoting science.

- A photocopy of the diploma confirming obtaining the title of master’s/doctoral degree.
- Declaration that, in the event of winning the competition, the University of Wrocław will be the candidate’s primary place of employment (download Workplace Statement).
- Statement of the discipline in which the candidate will do research or, for candidates doing research in more than one discipline, the proportion of each of them in their total research (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
- Personal account of the candidate’s experience explicitly indicating that the candidate meets the requirements listed above, separately addressing the criterion of scholarship, the criterion of internationalisation, the criterion of organisational work and the criterion of teaching.
- List of the candidate's publications for a period not exceeding 10 years.
- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers to be representative of his/her research output; The Chair of the Commission will be able to request that other scientific publications or a selection of them also be submitted.
- A cover letter addressed to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
- Declaration – article 113 the Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
- Information about research plans (in the form of a project presenting the subject and purpose of the research).
- Author's outline of classes (30 hours) on ‘conversion course in linguistics’ or syllabus of a monographic course in practical didactics of the German language (30 hours of a conversational class).
- Any other documents justifying the candidacy.
