Offer Description
The Centre of Global Change and Sustainability is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate (project employment).
Extent of employment: 25 hours per week
Duration of employment: May 2024, limited to June 2025 (with option for a temporary extension)
Workplace: 1190 Vienna, Dänenstraße 4
Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1, € 2.236,80
Responsibilities:
- Project work with the international networking platform of the Climate Change Center Austria (CCCA) in close cooperation with CSA MAGICA
- Participation in the strategic research coordination of the Austrian agendas in JPI Climate
- Exchange with researchers, ministries and research funding bodies as well as international players
- Independent organization of meetings
- Creation of protocols and documentation
- Project management (billing, contracts, financial management and documentation)
Required skills and qualifications:
- Diploma degree in climate change/sustainability or other equivalent university degree
- German and English fluent in spoken and written
- Experience in project work
- Experience in international exchange
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Very good organizational skills
- High interest in the topics of climate change and sustainability
- Enjoy working independently and accurately
- Willingness to undertake climate-friendly, international travel and flexible working hours
- Interest in inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration
- Interest in strategic and research policy considerations in the area of climate and sustainability research
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Austrian research landscape and interest in European research agendas
- Experience in concept development and application submission
- Knowledge of European and international research funding structures
- Experience with institutions operation across Europe and internationally, such as the European Commission of UNFCCC
- In-depth professional experience in a relevant field
- Interested in exchanging content with researchers and ministries
- Experience in organizing events is an advantage
- Project management skills
