Job description:

The "Satellite Communication Technology" research group deals with new communication protocols, transmission methods and system concepts for future satellite networks. Our goals are to increase bandwidth and power efficiency, to improve transmission quality and interference resistance, to increase throughput and data rates, and to open up new application areas.

As a future member of our group you will actively participate in the development of the new technologies. Your tasks will be developing complex communication protocols, algorithms, and transmission methods for future satellite networks, e.g. interference and resource management methods, routing protocols for satellite constellations, error-resistant transmission methods and access methods. The transfer of the communication protocols and communication blocks into a dedicated demonstration environment is your responsibility.

For this purpose, you have profound knowledge and experience in the development of communication protocols and transmission methods for satellite communication or mobile radio as well as good programming skills (C++, Python).

For the successful performance of your future tasks, you will contribute your ideas, your creativity and your pleasure in working independently in an international research team.

We offer a pleasant working atmosphere, state-of-the-art equipment and an environment with national and international collaborations. Opportunities for professional development (e.g. PMP Project Management, DLR PhD program, etc.) are provided.

Flexible working hours and an individual agreement on mobile working are a matter of course for us.

This research center is part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. With more than 42,000 employees and an annual budget of over € 5 billion, the Helmholtz Association is Germany's largest scientific organisation.
