Job description:
Would you like to make a contribution to a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy supply? Do you enjoy leading project teams and leading research projects to success with interesting partners? Then become part of our broad-based solar research team and make your contribution to the energy transition in Germany and worldwide!
The Institute of Solar Research is one of the leading research institutes in the field of concentrating solar technology and develops sustainable solutions for process heat and power supply for the industrial sector. In the Sustainable Systems Process Engineering department, we develop supply concepts for converting the previously fossil-based energy supply to sustainable energy sources. Our core competencies lie in the detailed modeling of the systems and the economic evaluation of the solution options based on this. Our mixed team of young and experienced engineers works closely with partners from industry to combine scientific methodology with practical constraints. As part of our team, you will contribute to the conversion of industrial processes to a renewable energy supply with your technical and organizational experience as a project manager.
Exciting and varied tasks are waiting for you:
- you contribute your technical expertise to lead our exciting research projects to optimal results
- you will manage one or more projects and monitor the progress of the project in terms of schedule, results and budget
- together with your project team and superiors, you will find good solutions for scientific, technical and organizational challenges in the projects
- you are involved in the scientific and organizational design of new projects
- you will keep abreast of the state of research in your field and further develop our scientific methodologies and simulation tools
- you will help to ensure that the results are scientifically prepared and presented to experts
Your main workplace will be in Stuttgart, but occasional travel to project partners or to conferences will take you to destinations in Germany, Europe or even internationally. Our department is located in Stuttgart and Cologne. We are used to communicating via video conferencing systems and work closely together both in the office and in the home office.
This research center is part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. With more than 42,000 employees and an annual budget of over € 5 billion, the Helmholtz Association is Germany's largest scientific organisation.
