The University for Continuing Education Krems specializes in part-time academic continuing education. As a public university for continuing education, it works with its expertise in teaching and research to overcome societal challenges and tailors its study programs to address them. The following position is available to strengthen our team of the Department for Building and Environment at the Faculty of Education, Arts and Architecture:

 

Administrative staff (m/f/d)

7,5 hrs./week

The newly established Jiří Toman Centre (JTZ) for Cultural Heritage and Humanitarian Norms serves to research and communicate the interfaces between cultural heritage, humanity and human rights and international actors. As part of the development of the JTZ, the extensive library and archive of Prof. DDr Jiří Toman as well as other donations are to be viewed and recorded. The position promises an exciting and interesting activity in the development of a new institution in the field of international law and international relations.

Your tasks

  • Support with administrative and organisational activities at the centre
  • Collaboration on selected projects and other externally funded assignments
  • Communication work and maintenance of the Centre's website
  • Recording the Centre's book and archive holdings
  • Updating the compendium of standards on cultural heritage

Your profile

We require evidence of the following qualifications for the application:

  • ongoing university studies (at least 40 ECTS completed to date) in the field of law, international relations, political science, cultural studies, history or a similar field
  • Very good knowledge of English (at least C1) and good knowledge of German (at least B2),
  • good knowledge of MS Office willingness to learn specific application software for libraries and archives
  • Independent, precise, flexible and proactive way of working

In addition, the following criteria are desirable:

  • further language skills, e.g. French, Russian, Spanish, Czech (basic knowledge)
  • Experience in the field of scientific cataloguing of book and archive collections

Your perspective

  • Minor employment (7,5 hours/week) initially limited to one year with a minimum salary of EUR 2,599.20 gross per month on a full-time basis (classification according to collective agreement of universities §54 VwGr. IIIa)
