Offer Description

Work assignments

  • Active participation in international-level research, development, and creative activities.
  • Leadership in research, development, and creative activities within the field.
  • Organizing and conducting specialized teaching in areas of expertise.
  • Delivering lectures and conducting seminars and practical sessions for dental science students, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
  • Supervising research work.
  • Organizing and developing orthodontic resident education.
  • Active involvement in research projects.
  • Creating educational tools and resources.

Education

PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Work experience

  • Capability to organise teaching and teach at all levels of higher education.
  • Previous teaching experience at least at the first two levels of higher education, including effective supervision of master’s and doctoral students.
  • Experience in developing educational tools and materials for university use.
  • Familiarity with modern educational tools, learning environments, and teaching methods.
  • Ability to direct research, development, and creative activities in the field, as well as lead research teams and mentor academic staff.
  • Internationally recognized research work, equivalent in scope to at least three doctoral dissertations.
  • Continued research productivity: engaging in substantial international-level research equivalent to at least 1.5 doctoral dissertations within the past five years.
  • Success in securing research funding and accountability for fulfilling research, development, and creative activity-related contracts over the last five years.
  • International experience: completion of specialized international training. Leadership in large-scale international collaborative projects or active involvement in foreign academic institutions, influential companies, or international organizations.
  • Engagement with the international community in the field: participation in professional societies or international collaborative projects. Editorial work for research publications or serving as a reviewer. Expert contributions to foreign institutions (e.g., academic personnel evaluations or research grant allocations). Organization of international scientific conferences.
  • Desirable application and popularization of theoretical knowledge: participation in applied research and data analysis. Involvement in innovative solution development. Creation of skill-based knowledge with commercial potential. Authorship of patents.

Language skills

Sufficient knowledge of Estonian and English for professional communication.

The documents required for applying

  2. A curriculum vitae.
  3. A list of research publications (if necessary, enclosing copies or offprints of more important publications).
  4. A copy of a document (including its annexes) which shows the candidate to hold the required qualification (with authorized translation into Estonian, English or Russian if the credential is not in Estonian, English, Russian, Finnish, Swedish, French, Italian, Ukrainian and Belarussian languages). A candidate can be required to submit the original or a certified copy of the document (including its annexes) showing the candidate to hold the required qualification. If the candidate has acquired the higher education in question abroad, he or she may be required to submit an assessment issued by the Academic Recognition Information Centre (the Estonian ENIC/NARIC) of his or her qualification in respect of the qualification requirements for the position.
  5. A statement not exceeding 1500 words of the aims to be achieved during the term in the position, and the outline of an action plan for achieving these.
  6. Other materials considered relevant by the candidate (a list of such materials must be included in the application or annexed to it).
