University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of assistant professor at the Department of Climatology and Atmosphere Protection, Institute of Geography and Regional Development, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environmental Management

The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
The candidate is expected to have
- PhD in Earth and environmental sciences or related field,
- Fluency in Polish (minimum B2 certificate) and English (minimum B2 certificate),
- Teaching experience at universities,
- Publication record (accepted research papers indexed in Scopus or Web of Science) in modelling of atmospheric processes or similar. At least in one paper the candidate have to be a leading author.
Expected skills
- Experience in programming (Fortran Python, R), code development, data analysis.
- Experience in working with spatial data & GIS software.
- Experience in working with atmospheric transport models.
- Knowledge of measuring techniques in atmospheric sciences.
- Driving licence.
- Experience in leading research projects (e.g. NCN, NCBiR, HE or H2020), PostDoc fellowship.
Responsibilities
- Conducting research individually and in team.
- Publishing research papers in international journals as a leading author and in co-operation with other researches.
- Applying for external research funds.
- Cooperation with external research teams.
- Teaching in polish and English, supervising bachelor’s and master’s students and supporting PhD students.
- uEMEP and EMEP4PL code development.
- Participation in and organization of seminars, and workshops; participation in university, faculty, and institute committees and other undertakings related to the process of educating students and research.

- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements or an explanation of the lack of them.
