About the research group

 

The Pancreas Regeneration team is part of the Regenbell Program at IDIBELL and the Department of Physiological Science at University of Barcelona-Campus Bellvitge. Our team is dedicated to various projects centered around pancreas biology, pancreas regeneration, and pancreatic cancer, with a particular emphasis on pancreatic ductal cells. 

 

About the role

The successful candidate will become part of an international research team dedicated to studying pancreas regeneration and pancreatic cancer. They will be responsible for analyzing various bioinformatic data generated in the lab, including RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, multiomics, and spatial transcriptomics.

 

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

At least 2 years of experience in a research laboratory conducting high-throughput omics analyses, including single-cell RNA seq analysis and multiome analysis

Proficiency in sequence analysis and motif discovery tools

Experience with single-cell and/or high-throughput sequencing analyses

Strong backgroung in data analysis and machine learning techniques

Experience with working in a Linux environment and ability to work on a High-Performance Computer (HPC)

Education and training

 Master’r degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related fields 

Technical skills

Proficient in R and Python programming languages, as well as scripting language

Knowledge of version control software and GitHub for collaborative development

Skilled in pipeline development for data analysis workflows

Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with diverse teams

Proficent in report writing for communicating research findings and project outcomes

Languages

Good command of the English language

 

We will value, but not required

PhD in Bioinformatics or Computer Sciences
Over 2 years of experience in a research laboratory specializing in high-throughput omics analyses, including single-cell RNA seq analysis and multiome analysis

Estimated annual gross salary: 28.000 € – 33.000 €

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
