Full-time, four-year position at the Institute of Computational Perception

Job Duties:

  • Conduct independent research in the fields of recommender systems, information retrieval, natural language processing (incl. large language models), fairness and trustworthiness of AI
  • Publications and dissemination of research findings (in journals and at conferences)
  • Work towards (and complete) a PhD thesis
  • Active participation in the institute’s fund-raising activities
  • Active participation in scientific and industrial cooperation projects
  • Independent teaching according to the collective agreement
  • Assistance with teaching and administration tasks of the institute
  • Co-supervision of Bachelor and Master’s students
  • Contribute to academic administration (e.g., in selection committees for professorship positions, etc.)

Your Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in at least one of the following fields (preferably several): recommender systems, information retrieval, natural language processing (incl. large language models), fairness and trustworthiness of AI
  • Ideally, already some scientific publications (e.g., in conference proceedings or journals)
  • Commitment, creativity, ability, and desire to carry out independent scientific work as well as publication and dissemination activities
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) - Level C1
  • Fluency in German (Level B1) or willingness to learn German
  • Ability and willingness to teach independently and to supervise students in the fields mentioned above
  • Strong social skills
