Offer Description

The NOTIFICATION project aims at developing an inverse analysis methodology dedicated to the identification of the coefficients driving the interaction between dislocations on different slip systems. It will be based on micromechanical and microstructural data collected from nanoindentation and EBSD characterization methods. The recruited candidate will be involved in the development of measurement protocols and will participate in the development of the inverse analysis method.

Carrying out ex-situ and in-situ nanoindentation tests in a scanning electron microscope and finite element numerical simulations of these tests.
Creation of standard EBSD and High Resolution EBSD maps to measure misorientations, dislocation densities, and residual stresses.
Development of sample preparation protocols
Inverse identification of work hardening parameters and coefficients of the interaction matrix between sliding systems using optimization techniques.

The successful candidate will join the LGF of the Ecole des Mines (Saint-Etienne, France). The LGF laboratory gathers a hundred permanent researchers, post-docs and doctoral students in the fields of materials, mechanics and processes. The research activity will be integrated into the "Physics and Mechanics of Materials" (PMM) group, whose expertise is recognized in micromechanical testing and microstructural characterization.
This post-doctoral contract is funded by the ANR project entitled NOTIFICATION, bringing together the LGF of Mines Saint-Etienne and the FEMTO-ST Laboratory of the UFC (project leader). The successful candidate will work closely with the members of this consortium.
