Offer Description
AFRODITA Doctoral Network (MSCA DN funded project from the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under the MSCA Doctoral Network grant agreement Nº 101120126), as an international consortium, offers 15 PhD Fellowships (36 months) in 5 European universities, 1 public research center, 1 public hospital and 2 large companies located in Spain, France, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Italy.
AFRODITAis designed to train a new generation of excellent researchers through a Joint Doctorate programme aimed at Advancing Fertility and Reproduction thrOugh Dedicated and Innovative Technological Applications.
The AFRODITA consortium takes up the challenge of analyze some potential Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) derived effects on the health of offspring, the mechanisms involved, and their consequences. The aim is to deliver jointly an innovative international, multi-sectorial, and multidisciplinary research and training programme (Joint Doctorate) by bringing together key scientific staff from the academia (5 European universities and 3 research centres), one hospital and the corporate world (8 enterprises) that will guarantee excellent training and effective supervision for AFRODITA’s 15 doctoral candidates and future Ph.D. students to enhance their career opportunities for different professional paths. The University of Murcia (Spain) coordinates the action and the 17 participating institutions are distributed across 9 countries: Spain, France, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy and the USA.
Specific Research Projects are detailed in the website (www.afrodita-dn.eu) and include the study of undesirable consequences of ART on offspring health while at the same time uncoupling it from underlying subfertility, using both human and animal models.
AFRODITA offers a highly competitive salary and attractive working conditions. All candidates will receive MSCA monthly Living Allowance (adjusted for country correction coefficient) and Mobility allowance, plus family allowance if applicable, in accordance with the MSCA rules and the national laws of the recruiting country with full social security benefits (see Benefits section).

For each position, committees will assess eligible candidates according to their potential as researchers based on academic profile, personal motivation, relevant background, professional and mobility experience and scientific knowledge. Transversal skills, soft skills, creativity, level of independence and English proficiency will also be considered.
-Doctoral Candidate status: be — at the date of recruitment — a doctoral candidate. Researchers must fulfil the requirement to be enrolled in two doctoral programmes leading to the awarding of a double doctoral degree from two EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
-Mobility rule: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date.
-Proof of English proficiency: if English is not the mother language of the applicant, they must provide a certificate from any recognized institution to prove B2 CEFR level or equivalent.

Additional Information
AFRODITA DN offers a highly competitive salary and attractive working conditions. The candidates will receive a salary in accordance with the MSCA rules and the national laws of the recruiting country with full social security benefits.
All candidates will receive MSCA monthly Living Allowance plus Mobility allowance. After deduction of employer social security, living and mobility costs will be fully covered with an aprox. gross salary per year 34.000-44.000 €.
The gross salary after the deduction of employer’s social contributions will be confirmed upon offer, based on local tax regulations. Living Allowance amount will be adjusted through the application of a country correction coefficient for the country in which the researcher is recruited (Institution of enrolment / host institution) to allow for the difference in cost of living in different EU Member States.
Additional Family Allowance (660€/month) will be available according to the rules for MSCA-DN actions. If the recruited doctoral candidate has or acquires family obligations during the action duration, the family allowance will be paid to him/her as well. Worker social security deductions and income taxes will be applied to the gross salary, mobility allowance and family allowances (when applicable) in accordance with the national Law of the recruiting institution.
