Job Description 

Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow in the NUS Centre for International Law (CIL). This is a 2-year (renewable) contractual position offered in connection with CIL’s expansion of its programme on international economic law and policy.

The duties of the incumbent will involve:

  • Lead and develop research across a range of international economic law areas, primarily international trade law. An emphasis on areas of evolving development, including, e.g., climate, global economic/trade architecture, and digital trade, is preferred.
  • Publish in journals of the highest calibre with an emphasis on academically rigorous research with practical policy implications.
  • Conceptualize and lead conferences, seminars, workshops, and trainings in international economic law, and take a key role in CIL’s annual International Law Year in Review Conference.

Qualifications

  • A PhD in a relevant international law area a law or equivalent experience;
  • A proven track record of publications at the highest level;
  • A proven track record of research development and self-motivation;
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communications skills;
  • At least 5 years working experience;
  • Candidates from the region and/or with knowledge of regional language(s) will have an advantage.

It is located on the Bukit Timah Campus of NUS, together with the Faculty of Law and the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy.
