PHYSIOLOGY

The researcher will be involved in the design of translational neuroscience studies and in the creation of in vivo and in vitro animal models of neurodegenerative diseases of the basal ganglia, with experience in stereotactic surgery, microdissection, collection of biological samples and administration of drugs via the enteral and parenteral; in whole cell patch-clamp and intracellular ex vivo electrophysiological recording techniques on rodent brain slices, including neuronal labeling and retrograde labeling techniques; in the use of optogenetic techniques for the electrophysiological study of specific cell populations; in the analysis of motor behavior and alterations in social learning on animal models of disease.
