Iron RFB electrolyte researcher

Minimum Qualification: MSc in chemistry or related areas with expertise in electrochemistry. 

Experience: Industrial and/or academic experience in the development and physicochemical evaluation of polyoxometalates. Electrochemical characterization (e.g., cyclic voltammetry, AC impedance spectroscopy). 

VG CoLAB is a Collaborative Laboratory that focuses its activities on electrochemistry and power electronics applied R&D and prototyping for innovative high-performance hybrid Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for demanding applications, and its smart integration in microgrids, maximizing renewable energy use.  

Objective/Purpose:

The MSc will contribute directly to the development and evaluation of electrolytes based on polyoxometalates for RFBs and supercapacitors. The expected tasks include the evaluation of electrolyte materials (both physicochemical (XRD, FTIR, TG, etc) and electrochemical characterization (EIS, CV, CCD). It is important to have a deep understanding of material properties versus battery performance characteristics. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Preparation and evaluation of battery and supercapacitors electrolyte polyoxometalates. 
• Support testing of battery cells. 
• Equipment handling and inventory up-keep.
