Offer Description
The Nanobio team is developing new concepts to push back the limits of super-resolved fluorescence imaging, and this project is particularly aimed at a candidate wishing to join an interdisciplinary project requiring the convergence of different high-level expertises. This position will involve developing the signal processing approaches associated with the new concept of single-molecule localization, recently patented and experimentally validated. We have set up a new structured illumination modality that encodes the position of fluorescent molecules with an orignal iilumination approach where each molecule position is encoded by a unique frequency, enabling us to observe a wide field on a single detector (alone or in an array, possibly in association with FPGAs). The aim of the project is to develop tools for analyzing/processing the signal from these detectors, so as to increase the number of molecules and therefore the frequencies that can be detected simultaneously, and also to use these analyses to help optimize experimental parameters. Ideally, tools will be developed for real-time analysis. These analysis tools could mobilize deep learning approaches. After a test phase on calibration samples, these tools will be applied to the observation of biological samples in collaboration with various team members. These new developments will be implemented as part of the TimeNanoLive ERC. The position may be extended for a further 12 months.
The person will contribute to various aspects :
- setting up new analysis tools
- programming/simulation
- testing and validation on calibrated datas
- characterisation of various samples
- writing articles
- taking part in conferences
This work will be carried out within ISMO (Unité Mixte CNRS / Université Paris-Saclay) as part of a European proejct ERC TimeNanolive ). The laboratory has an on-site culture room and various microscopes for single molecule localization microscopy.
