Your job
The Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research - Utrecht University (uu.nl) at Utrecht University invites applications for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in the areas of molecular biology, biochemistry and biophysics, broadly defined. The Bijvoet Centre focuses on investigating the structure and function of biomolecules at the molecular scale. The ideal candidate uses modern experimental approaches to study protein and/or ribonucleoprotein function, including (but not limited to) single-molecule, super-resolution imaging or spectroscopic approaches.
You will join the vibrant research environment of the Bijvoet Centre. The candidate will develop an internationally recognized research program and successfully apply for external funding. Through teaching activities, which include the supervision of bachelor, master and PhD students, the candidate will contribute to the education of the next generation of STEM workers.
Requirements
A PhD and postdoctoral experience are required, and international experience is desired. Upon favorable evaluation after 1.5 years, the candidate will be offered a permanent position at Utrecht University.
Additional Information
- An appointment as Assistant/Associate Professor, starting with a fixed-term contract. Following a positive evaluation after 18 months, this will be converted into a permanent contract;
- A gross monthly salary for assistant professor ranging from € 4.332 to € 6.737 in scale 11-12 and for associate professor ranging from € 6.002 to € 8.025 in scale 13-14;
- 8% holiday bonus and 8.3% end-of-year bonus;
- A pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible terms of employment based on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities.
