Offer Description
Recent studies have shown an impact of air pollution on the brain and the central nervous system. Through a research project, we will examine how exposure to TRAP during urban trips representative of daily commuting could be associated with modifications in cognition and brain activities thanks to an international collaboration between LESCOT, Umrestte and University of Birmingham. With this objective, we will measure the short-term exposure to air pollution of study participants during commuting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sampling and measuring exposure to traffic pollutants (PM1, PM2.5, PM10, carbon black, metals, ultrafine particles), laboratory analysis of atmospheric samples, preparation and calibration of sensors, preparation of exposure databases including exposure during commuting, estimation of environmental and occupational exposures of the participants, and interpretation of exposure data. She/he will evolve in a multidisciplinary Project Team. International mobilities (4-5 up to 7 weeks) are planned at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
