Offer Description

The position is part of the Norwegian National Research Council project “Photo-Sense” that conducts ground breaking research into the use of artificial mem-branes with embedded photosensitive proteins for retinal prosthetics. To care-fully characterize the performance of these membranes, this project is to de-velop a CMOS integrated circuit, which is able to sense chemical, electrical, and optical signals on its surface with high spatial resolution. Even more specif-ically, we are looking to implement an array composed of photo diodes, ion sen-sitive field effect transistors (ISFET) and surface electrodes. To test the light sensitivity and electrochemical properties of the biomolecular membranes under development they are to be placed upon this CMOS sensor and thus be careful-ly characterized.
