Offer Description

In the framework of the EURAXESS Internship Program for Refugee and Displaced Researchers in Europe  https://internship.euraxess.bg/, we would like to encourage candidates with the appropriate profile to apply for an Internship at the Royal Museum for Central Africa in the section of History and Politics, Dept. History and Anthropology. We are a centre specialising in the history and socio-political analysis of 19th to 21st century Central Africa, in its past and present relations with Belgium and the world. We carry out scientific research projects and disseminate their findings, promote our collections and offer our expertise to a broad public. Consider an internship of 4 to 6 months part time of 2 to 3 days a week

Grants are open for PhD students and PostDocs 

Previous experience as Museum staffer or reference librarian or reference archivist is preferred.

Fluency in English and / or French and / or Dutch. 

University degrees:  in European History of Art, European History, African Arts History, African History, European Art History, Library and Information System, conservation (including but not limited to) on paintings, paper-based works (books, engravings, postcards, etc.), memorabilia, scientific objects, etc.), World War II provenance research. 

Previous international experience preferred.

  2. A letter of motivation, listing the possible time slots and months the candidate would be available for the internship
  3. Copies of diplomas, and their transcripts valid in Belgium

Appropriate applicants will go through a round of several interviews before any decision is made.
