The Higher School of Architecture of the University of A Coruña invites candidates for a full-time research support technician position in the area of structural design and wood construction. In particular, we are looking for a proactive candidate capable of promoting the development of a very innovative new line of research at an international level consisting of the design, manufacturing, modelling and testing of wooden structures designed under parametric design principles and manufactured robotically. The objective of the project is to create new forms of construction with wood based on highly robotic structures that require few construction and assembly tasks.

This position requires the performance of the following tasks:

* Support in structural design and numerical modelling of wooden structures.

* Support in manufacturing tests of wooden structures with robotic arm.

* Support in the development of parametric design algorithms for wooden structures.

* Support laboratory tests to evaluate mechanical properties.

* Work meetings and presentation of results to various groups.

* In addition, it is expected that the candidate will be able to carry out one or two research stays in prestigious international centers, each lasting approximately one month. The candidate is also expected to take different specialized training courses in the area of robotic manufacturing and parametric design during the first year after joining.
