Offer Description

Are you a talented and innovative person who would like to contribute to the next generation of implantable sensor systems for medical devices? If so, you are invited to apply for a 3-year position in a Research Fellowship as PhD Candidate in Medical Engineering at the Division of Physiology, University of Oslo.

We are seeking a candidate for a doctoral degree to work on an exciting project involving wireless pressure sensor technology; the ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Informatics, or Neuroscience, with experience on topics such as biomedical engineering, mechatronics, microelectronics, biophysics, and sensors technology. Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Jean-Luc Boulland and Dr. Eis Annavini, the candidate will develop and test new simulations, prototypes for an implantable sensor system, and analysis pipelines. Assembly of small electronics will be done at E-lab in the Department of Physics at the University of Oslo. The prototypes that will meet the requirements will then be tested in vivo and later in a clinical trial. This will be together with Dr. Mark Züchner (senior consultant in Neurosurgery) and Thomas Glott (senior consultant in Physical Medicine). The candidate will provide technical assistance during these trials for proper use of the prototype, data acquisition and later data analysis. Therefore, the candidate will be exposed to a stimulating environment with experts in different scientific and medical fields. More information about the research group can be found at here

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and make a meaningful impact in the field of biomedical technology, then we encourage you to apply for this PhD position.
