Offer Description
Project description: The main objective of this position is to continue the development and maintenance of VIDAA (a 3D web planner for cardiac interventions) and to add advanced functionalities such as realistic device deployment, integration with Amazon Web Services, visualisation of fluid simulation results, etc.
Tasks to be performed: This position will be involved in various development tasks of VIDAA stemming from the feedback received from diverse set of stakeholders. The main goal of this position is to continue the development of VIDAA to add advanced functionalities such as realistic device deployment, integration with AWS, or visualisation of fluid simulation results, among others. Moreover, the candidate will be responsible for processing cases from the clinical collaborators that are helping to design VIDAA, e.g., physicians and researchers from Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain), Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Barcelona, Spain), Hospital Puerta del Mar (Cádiz, Spain), and Righospitalet (Copenhagen, Denmark), among others.
Dedication and working hours: Full time (35h/week).
Planned remuneration approx: 27.977,68 € gross per year
Financing fund: PRCAT00624 - 2023 PROD 00036 - Oscar Cámara (VIDAA), projecte “Virtual platform for Implantation Devices for the left Atrial Appendage”, programa “Pla de Recerca i Innovació de Catalunya (2010-2013)”, projecte que finalitza el 31/07/2025. Selection criteria:
The selection of the candidates will be made through evaluation of the curriculum and, where appropriate, with the carrying out a test and/or interview. Valuation will be as follows:
The selection committee uses several indicators to evaluate the applicant’s.
1. Academic Training (0-20 points):
- Engineer with an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related disciplines.
2. Professional experience/Adequacy to the proposed profile ( 0-60 points):
- Experience in front-end development (e.g., HTML5; ideally also ReactJS, ThreeJS and/or VTK.js).
- Basic knowledge in back-end framework (e.g, Python, ideally also in Docker and mongoDB).
- Having worked on biomedical web application development projects.
- Statement of purpose: experience, motivation for applying to this position, background fit, contribution of the position to the candidate’s future careers plans, …
- Any demonstrated experience, particularly if supported by evidence.
- Additional relevant skills (field-specific): demonstrated, e.g., through previous projects, and or through previous participation in contests, training, …
3. Other merits (0-20 points):
- Candidates must have excellent teamwork skills and fluent written and oral communication in English.
- Be enthusiastic about collaborating with a wide variety of partners.
- Knowledge in UI/UX design.
Candidates with the highest score based on training and demonstrated experience will be contacted for a (virtual) interview in which motivation, proactive nature, ability to work collaboratively, organizational skills, communication skills and the ability to discuss and manage problems.
The final decision will be the result of a consensus of an evaluation committee that will consider the results. The candidate with the highest score in the selection process will be offered the job.
