Offer Description

The post is offered as a part of the project entitled „Seamless shared urban mobility” (acronym: SUM) financed under the call HORIZON-CL5-2022-D6-02. The consortium consists of 30 entities from 13 countries, including 9 cities and 7 universities. The Jagiellonian University plays a role of consortium partner. The project aims to prepare 15 cities by 2026 for the transformation concerning new mobility possibilities especially shared transport integrated with public transport. The introduction of such products and ecological way of transport will make the network operating in urban cities (including Krakow) balanced, attractive and reliable.

The selection procedure is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.4 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 166 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:

1. holding at least a Master’s degree, Master of Science degree or an equivalent degree;

2. exhibiting aptitude for research work.

Specific Requirements
  • has scientific achievements in the field of shared mobility which should be documented by at least one article published in reputable international journal;
  • actively participated in international scientific conferences;
  • preferred researchers with a background in transportation and demand modelling, ideally holding a master’s degree in transport engineering, computer science, civil engineering
    or similar;
  • programming skills (Python) will be a plus.

Eligibility criteria
  1. resume,
  2. personal questionnaire filled in by the candidate,
  3. copy of the master’s diploma or a doctoral diploma, if applicable,
  4. information on the candidate’s scientific, teaching and organisational achievements,
  5. list of publications (along with the respective publishing houses and the number of pages);
  6. recommendation letter from a scientific collaborator;
  7. letter containing the motivation to take up employment and information indicating scientific experience and skills coherence with the subject of the project (2 pages max);
  8. declaration of the candidate, confirming that the Jagiellonian University will be their primary place of work, should they be selected in the selection procedure,
  9. statement under Article 113 of the Law on higher education and science,
  10. statement on acknowledging and accepting the rules and regulations concerning intellectual property management and commercialisation in force at the Jagiellonian University.

Selection process

The first stage of the selection procedure is the formal assessment of the submitted documents. Applications which meet all formal requirements are the subject of substantive assessment, during which an interview with the Candidate may be conducted (directly or via electronic communication channels), upon settling the date of the interview with the Candidate. The Candidate has the right to appeal against the negative assessment by the selection board within 7 days from receiving the information about the results of the assessment.

The selection procedure is conducted in accordance with The Policy of Open, Transparent and Merit-Based Recruitment Process at the Jagiellonian University.
