Applications are welcome from junior postdoctoral researchers interested in RNA-biology and RNA-processing.
• The selected candidate will participate in the analysis of RNA-processing in health and human diseases to identify potential targets for antisense RNA-therapies.
• The project will be supervised by Dr. Lorea Blazquez, Ramón y Cajal and Ikerbasque Research Fellow. More information about the lab can be found here: https://www.blazquezlab.info.
• The lab is located within the Neurosciences area of Biodonostia Health Research Institute (http://www.biodonostia.org/en/).

REQUIRED:
• We are looking for a junior postdoctoral fellow with a PhD in computational biology (< 3 years since PhD defence) in the topic of basic biology or biomedicine. Applicants should be familiar with Linux/Unix environment and high-performance computing (clusters). Knowledge of programming environments (R/Bioconductor, etc) and languages (Python, Perl…) is also required. Experience with containerized workflows for transcriptomic data analysis will be positively evaluated.
• The candidate will participate in the planning, processing, analysis and interpretation of next generation sequencing experiments (RNA-seq, iCLIP, long read RNA-seq, etc). The applicant will lead his/her own research project and will co-supervise PhD and Master students in the lab. The candidate will also collaborate in additional projects in the Area related to the analysis of high-throughput genomics data (WES, WGS) for the investigation of complex neurological diseases.
• The candidate will be expected to participate in the development of data analysis workflows and pipelines and implementation and customization of existing softwares for data analysis.
• The candidate should have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal (first decile). Good English and communication skills, initiative and motivation are required.

Additional Information
CONTRACTUAL CONDITIONS
• TYPE OF CONTRACT: 36-month Postdoctoral Access contract with the possibility of an extension.
• WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time
• EXPECTED START DATE: March 2024
• ANNUAL GROSS SALARY: €28,000 - €30,000 per year (gross).
The remuneration shall be based on the candidate s commitment and merit, as well as how suited they are for the role. The worker must comply with the operating rules set by the Biogipuzkoa Institute in terms of commitment, duties, working hours, leave entitlements, etc.
