YOUR TASKS
You will join a project that investigates ways to map and monitor environmental parameters, such as air quality, using sensor networks.
It is the intention that you develop original techniques or algorithms and publish them at conferences (in the form of a poster or oral presentation) and later in journals.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold at minimum a Master’s degree (e.g. Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, or similar) with demonstrated first-class performance (e.g., outstanding grades, thesis result, or publications) with a strong preference for PhD students nearing the end of their dissertation.
- You should demonstrate experience in environmental monitoring and mapping, such as for air quality.
- Other requirements:
- Programming skills (Python, C++, etc)
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Experience with original algorithm design that goes beyond the mere application of methods from literature is important.
- Expertise with (Deep) neural networks, (un-)supervised learning, decision trees, dimensionality reduction, overfitting, etc.
- Fundamentals of probability and statistics
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 1/4/2024 – 31/1/2025.
- Your contract will start on 1/04/2024 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
