Offer Description
The collaboration between the Radboudumc's Department of Medical BioSciences (Netherlands) and the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (LNBio/CNPEM) seeks to address the challenge of diabetic skin wounds. Our objective is to establish an in vitro model of diabetic human skin to test innovative regenerative scaffolds capable of promoting effective healing of these wounds.
The four-year project combines expertise in engineering, cell biology and disease models. The partnership includes a BEPE internship at the laboratory in the Netherlands. At CNPEM, the fellow will work on the development, characterization and evaluation of the diabetic skin model. Natural dermal substitutes developed by the Dutch laboratory, which promote the healing of diabetic wounds, will be tested. Validation will occur through established preclinical testing, including proof-of-concept evaluation of these surrogates in mouse models. Join us to expand treatment options for diabetic patients and drive advances in research areas.
