a job offer for an academic teacher at the position of language instructor in Spanish and Polish in the group of academic teachers in the Foreign Language Department at AGH University.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL: Degree of Magister of Spanish philology (equivalent of Master’s degree in Spanish philology)

Degree of Magister of Spanish philology (equivalent of Master’s degree in Spanish philology) with a proven formal qualification to teach Polish as a foreign language  and proven formal teaching qualification.

 

Specific Requirements
  1. Written declaration of readiness to teach full-time and part-time Spanish and Polish courses including specialist Spanish and Polish courses and Spanish and Polish for Academic Purposes courses as offered by the Department of Foreign Languages.
  2. Teaching aptitude.
  3. Documented commitment to work in previous employment.
  4. Highest standards of ethical conduct (https://www.agh.edu.pl/o-agh/dokumenty/inne/kodeks-etyczny-agh)
  5. Completed distance teaching and learning courses would be an asset.
  6. Experience in andragogy, work experience in a similar position in a higher education institution would be an asset.
  7. Proven formal qualification to teach Polish as a foreign language. Additionally, a  formal qualification to teach a different foreign language (e.g. French) would be an asset.
  8. Knowledge of problems relating to language instruction for students pursuing technical degree programmes would be an asset.
  9. Experience in translation would be an asset.

Eligibility criteria

A candidate must meet the following requirements set out in the relevant provisions of law:

  1. has the qualifications specified in the relevant provisions of law,
  2. has full legal capacity,
  3. has clean criminal record - that is: has not been convicted of a deliberate offence under a final and binding court sentence,
  4. enjoys full public rights.

 

 

Selection process

Candidates meeting basic requirements will be invited to:

  1. attend an onsite interview with the Director of the Department of Foreign Languages
  2. conduct an on-site demonstration lesson at the premises of the AGH Department of Foreign Languages.

Successful execution of a teaching demonstration lesson at the Department of Foreign Languages at AGH University is an essential condition in the competition process.
