Offer Description

The research fellow's
activity will focus on the production of wheat lines showing resistance/resilience to water stress and/or
fusarium and/or insects, maintaining adequate yield standards, possibly with improved nutritional
properties. Genome editing using CRISPR-Cas9 will be used. Genes involved in the regulation of
resistance to fusariosis have been identified, as well as genes involved in the accumulation of starch in the
kernel, a parameter correlated with productivity, along with genes involved in pest resistance and causing
adverse reactions to wheat. Wheat lines obtained by CRISPR-Cas9 mediated mutagenesis in these genes
will be produced and characterized
