The following position is available to strengthen our team of the Department for Health Sciences, Medicine and Research at the Faculty of Health and Medicine:

 

Early Stage Researcher – PhD Student (m/f/d)

30 hrs./week

The advertised position aims to evaluate whether extracellular vesicles isolated from adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells can be 3D bioprinted in order to stimulate cartilage defect healing.

Your tasks

  • Conducting experiments to evaluate 3D printability of extracellular vesicles for cartilage repair
  • Publishing research findings in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Presenting results at international conferences
  • Pursuing and submitting a dissertation in the PhD programme "Regenerative Medicine" within three years (duration of the project)

Your profile

We require evidence of the following qualifications for the application:

  • Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the fields of molecular biology or tissue engineering or comparable studies
  • Experience in 3D bioprinting/ additive manufacturing and working with hydrogels
  • Knowledge of basic cell culture and analysis methods (e.g. expansion of cells, PCR, Histology, Western Blot)
  • Excellent English skills (min. C1)
  • Good knowledge in writing scientific texts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Teamwork skills
