DENS-iA research group investigate the biomechanics in the field of oral implantology, including force analysis, stress distribution and the interaction between implants and surrounding tissues. DENSiA research group improve clinical practice and quality of life of patients optimizing dental implants, oral rehabilitation, and surgical techniques. In addition, the research group investigate the use of aligners in the treatment of dental malocclusions and the implementation of digital technologies in the field of oral rehabilitation, developing more efficient, aesthetic, and comfortable techniques and materials for the treatment of oral pathology.
DENS-iA research group is a team with extensive experience and knowledge in the field of dentistry, notable for its collaboration with the Engineering Department of the University of Deusto, Universidad Internacional de Catalunya, Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, Universidad de Oviedo, and some companies as ANAXADENT and KLOCKNER.
We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher at the UEMC. The position is part of the DENS-iA research group. Our group offers an international and interdisciplinary research environment with close links to the improvement of dental implant biomechanics, orthodontics, and digital flow in oral rehabilitation with the general purpose of optimize clinical processes, providing an impact on clinical practice, oral health, and the quality of life of young and adult patients.
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available to join an interdisciplinary team working on biomechanics applied in oral implantology (oral surgery, implantology, maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics). The person joining the research group will engage in activities within the research areas that the group has open, with a particular focus on drafting scientific articles.

Essential criteria/Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, biology, biomechanics, immunology, biomaterials, biomedical research, or other similar health related field/ or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong writing skills.
- Tissue engineering experience.
- Strong interest in biomaterials or tissue engineering, experience in finite element modeling and execution of in vitro load transfer studies
- High English level.
- Expertise in conducting statistical analyses.
- Experience in publishing papers, writing papers/reports and conference presentations.
- Expertise/familiarity in implants, abutments design, and development of synthetic bone substitutes with therapeutic functions, 3D printing technologies, digital scanning, load creep machines, strain gauges, polarized light banks.
Desirable criteria/qualifications:
- Demonstrate a capability of working within a project team to achieve results.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to gaining practical experience working on a research project.
- Molecular biology techniques: Real Time PCR, DNA isolation and DNA purification, RNA and proteins.
- Cellular models.
- Use of plasma reactor in plasma medicine field.
