The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in law obtained on the basis of a dissertation covering issues in the area of legal theory and philosophy of law.
- Documented scientific output in the field of legal theory and philosophy of law (publications - also in a foreign language - and active participation in scientific conferences, including international conferences).
- Teaching experience in university courses in the field of legal theory and philosophy of law.
- English language skills on the level enabling to preparing and conducting classes. In the case of a foreign candidate, fluency in Polish is required.
- Experience in organising national and international scientific conferences.
- The graduation from a Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields other than law or administration (e.g. philosophy, political science, history, sociology) will be an asset.
- Participation in research teams, in particular related to the realisation of national or international research grants.
- Availability necessary to perform additional organisational functions in the Department.
- Candidate's declaration that work at the University of Wrocław will be his/her only employment.
- Declaration of conducting scientific research only in the discipline of legal sciences (to represent only the discipline of legal sciences in 100%).
Responsibilities
- Conducting scientific research in the area of legal theory and philosophy of law.
- Preparation of scientific publications.
- Applying for national and international research grants.
- Participation as a lecturer at the national and international scientific conferences.
- Teaching courses in Polish and English.
- Participation in the preparation of conferences organized or co-organized by the Department of Legal Theory and Philosophy of Law.

- A photocopy of the diploma certifying that the candidate has obtained a doctoral degree (PhD) degree.
- A statement that should the candidate win the competition, the University of Wrocław will be his/her primary employment and should the candidate be employed (download Workplace Statement).
- Declaration of conducting scientific research only in the discipline of legal sciences (to represent only the discipline of legal sciences in 100%) (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
- A self-evaluation report describing the applicant's scientific and teaching experience and other achievements in the field of organisation and popularisation of science. The report should also include information on academic mobility.
- The list of scientific publications from a period no longer than 10 years, previous teaching experience and other achievements in the field of organisation and popularisation of science.
- Electronic versions of two key publications (or unpublished papers) which the candidate considers to be representative of his/her scientific output.
- An application for employment addressed to the Rector.
- A statement in connection with Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. The Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration - Article 113).
