Offer Description
Alterations in cell metabolism and metabolic adaptation are crucial hallmarks for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), an aggressive disease with a high relapse rate. Thus, new ways to detect metabolic modulation using blood would be valuable and highly informative for diagnosing and monitoring AML progression. Intriguingly, growing evidence has highlighted the key role of extracellular vesicles (EVs) as a liquid biopsy platform. However, the cargo of EVs and their role in the metabolic regulation of leukemic cells or immune cells are still elusive in AML. The main goal of this project is to study the metabolic profile of leukemic cells/immune cells and the phenotype and cargo of EVs in parallel from peripheral blood and bone marrow samples of AML patients at diagnosis and after therapy
