Job description:
The CRC 1574 "Circular factory for the perpetual innovative product" aims to enable integrated linear and circular production on an industrial scale. Its goal is to bring used products and components into new product generations, moving closer to the vision of a perpetual product. Innovative economic systems that decouple resource consumption from economic expansion are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth. The traditional linear economic approach of “take-make-use-dispose” is not a long-term solution, and circular production schemes provide an alternative. In addition to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Fraunhofer IOSB, Aalen University and the University of Stuttgart are also involved in the research project. Further information on the CRC is available on the website: www.sfb1574.kit.edu
We offer jobs in the following fields of research:
- Knowledge technologies for multimodal and uncertain knowledge in the circular factory
- Modelling and evaluation of material states for residual lifetime and material modification of processes in the circular factory
- Information representation and -management of product instances
- Data infrastructure for the circular factory
If you would like to work together with a dedicated team on key topics in sustainable production, we look forward to getting to know you.
This research center is part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. With more than 42,000 employees and an annual budget of over € 5 billion, the Helmholtz Association is Germany's largest scientific organisation.
