The Department of Theory and Practice of Sports is looking for a research assistant to start on May 1, 2024. The main focus is on the project supported by the German Federal Institute of Sports Science (BISp)
"Evaluation of an integrative concept for interest-oriented talent detection and orientation in all-day elementary school - Follow-up (InterTalent II)"
As a follow-up to the first phase of the project (InterTalent), the aim is to investigate how gaining experience of movement in a variety of sports affects the detection of one's own sporting talent and the commencement of competitive sports training. In a second analysis approach, the relationship between personality profile and talent potential will be examined.
In addition to working on the project, the candidate is expected to support the department in the planning and implementation of scientific formats.
YOUR TASKS:
- Independent research within the project
- Project management, publication and presentation activities
- Collaboration in the conception of online surveys, interview guidelines and other formats
- Preparation, implementation and evaluation of data surveys
- Communication with parents
- Collaboration in writing the project report
- Collaboration in the academic self-administration of the department

YOUR PROFILE:
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.
- Very good scientific university degree in sports science
- Knowledge of empirical social research methods (quantitative and qualitative) is desirable
- High interest and pleasure in academic work
- Reliable, independent and team-oriented way of working
- Very good German and English language skills

The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled on May 1, 2024. The position is temporary for a fixed term until April 30, 2026. In case of a further project funding an extension of the employment period is planned.
The position serves the purpose of academic qualification (doctorate).
